Who should read our blog?

““Effective communication is an important life skill that enables us to better understand and connect with the people around us. It allows us to build respect and trust, resolve differences and foster environments where problem solving, caring, affection and creative ideas can thrive. Lack of effective communication inadvertently leads to conflict and frustration…” Reference.com

Blog readers often come to affiliate themselves with and identify as a member of a community related to a certain blog or blog topic. Blog readers arrive not only for the content on the blog but also for the opportunity to be a member of the space the blog encapsulates.

The challenge:  Open communications to foster relations.

This blog is directed to any member of Delta Kappa Gamma who identifies with these challenges. This blog will be a resource to encourage communications to build relationships.

  1. Eileen, you are so right! Open effective communication has connected DKG women educators from around world. My chapter pairs up active members with new/not-so active members. We call it Tau Pals. Each month we try to make a connection with our Pals and take time to build stronger relationships. I look forward to reading comments from other members.

  2. My name is Kristin Helga from Reykjavik, Iceland. I am a member at Eta chapter DKG in Reykjavik. The name you see as a title of this blogg „fjarkennsla“ is an Icelandic word and means distance education in English.

Communication is important for us to get to know each other better and to be able to discuss education and other things. I know that, a few DKG women in Reykjavik walk together regularly and they think that is a good way to get fit and to connect.

The most used communication between the Icelandic DKG members is of course physical meetings and we use closed Facebook group where we post pictures and few words about chapters meetings and special events.

    1. I like that your members have a 'closed Facebook group'. It makes the communication more personal!
